Unearth a Story | June 1 - July 31
This year’s Summer Read theme, Unearth a Story, celebrates the joy of discovery that reading brings. Designed for all ages, the program helps kids stay on track over the summer while inspiring a lifelong love of reading in adults.
The challenge runs from June 1 through July 31. Along the way, you can earn prizes and collect raffle tickets for chances to win exciting grand prizes.
How it Works
For every day you reach your daily reading goal, mark a dinosaur egg on your Reading Record. You can pick up a Reading Record at any Information Desk starting June 1. Fridge magnets are available upon registration for every household.
Collect a raffle ticket every five days of reading—you can earn up to six raffle tickets to enter in the grand prize drawings.
When you complete 15 and 30 days of reading, head to the library for a special prize. Don’t forget to check out the 30 Hours Outside Challenge on the back of your Reading Record for even more fun (and another prize opportunity!).
